Superior Visibility and Flame Resistance

ECOMAGIC and FREEMAGIC− two new MAGIC TAPE hook and loop fastener products

Osaka, December 12, 2016 – under the ECOMAGIC and FREEMAGIC brand names Kuraray is now launching two newly developed MAGIC TAPE hook and loop fastener products. The new products are additions to these lineups and are available in two colours: fluorescent orange red and fluorescent yellow.

Both products conform with JIS T 8127 standards for high-visibility (HV) clothing and meet the FMVSS 302 standards for automotive-grade flame resistance. JIS T 8127 standards are the Japanese equivalent to the ISO 20471 standard for HV clothing.

Due to their superior flame resistance and visibility the application potential ranges from protective work gear, safety clothing for road workers, police or fire brigades to driver's protective equipment such as warning vests. Other applications are sports apparel and outdoor equipment as they also require enhanced visibility from a distance.

ECOMAGIC is a polyester-based hook and loop fastener lineup and even surpasses the JIS T 8127 standards for HV clothing in terms of chromaticity, brightness and colour durability. FREEMAGIC lineup features hooks and loops on the same side of the tape to enhance usability. Thanks to their softness, FREEMAGIC products do not damage other materials even when used on such clothing components as belts, waistbands and cuffs.
