Presenting innovative solutions for plastic processing

Kuraray, a leading supplier of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), will be present at FAKUMA 2011 from October 18 to 22 in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The company will exhibit its comprehensive TPE portfolio in hall A4, booth no. A4-4304 together with its long-time distributor Marubeni. Kuraray’s product range includes the well-established TPE brands SEPTON™ and HYBRAR™ and liquid rubber (LIR/LBR). The exhibit will also include the latest innovations, which open up new horizons in plastic processing.

KURARITY™
A new soft acrylic polar TPE with high transparency. When its new production facility in Niigata, Japan, comes on stream in November 2011, Kuraray will be the world’s first supplier of this new cutting-edge material.

KURAMIRON™
A new highly durable, gel-free thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) specifically for films.

TP-301
As a trans polyisoprene, this product is used as synthetic gutta percha for medical splints and in hotmelt applications.

SEPTON™ Q
A series of products that combine exceptional durability and scratch resistance with easy processing, a soft touch and lightweight characteristics. Their first commercial application was in soccer shoes.

SEPTON™ J
A new series of hydrogenated styrenic TPEs specifically designed to boost flexibility and softness. They are suitable for products requiring soft gels, including bandages and footwear insoles.

SEPTON™ K
A newly designed material that can be directly injection-moulded or extruded onto glass or metal without pretreatment. SEPTONTM K combines excellent bondability with the advantages of a thermoplastic elastomer.

Liquid rubber
Kuraray markets high-viscosity polymeric liquid rubber based on isoprene (LIR) and butadiene (LBR). LIR/LBR are mainly used as reactive plasticisers in the rubber industry. LIR/LBR rubber is covulcanizible, which prevents migration. They are also available as functionalised grades which bond to a wide variety of matrices and, in particular, improve rubber-metal bonding.

KURARITY™ is a new soft acrylic polar thermoplastic elastomer with high transparency used for example for re-writable films.
