TROSIFOL presents optimised UV+ PVB film
At this year's glasstec 2012 in Düsseldorf, TROSIFOL, a division of Kuraray Europe GmbH, will be not only presenting its complete range of PVB encapsulation films for photovoltaic modules, but also showcasing its new, recently launched TROSIFOL SOLAR UV+.
This is a pioneering, newly developed PVB film with a modified formulation. A highly transparent film with outstanding UV transmittance, it achieves even higher energy yield not only in crystalline UV-selective solar cells and CIS/CIGS thin film modules, but also in architectural applications where this property is particularly beneficial.
Since TROSIFOL UV+ allows the natural spectrum of solar radiation to pass largely unchanged, it is particularly useful in applications where this is expressly desired, e.g. for plants. Conceivable here are applications in large greenhouse farming enterprises that not only need natural light, but also wish to benefit from the special advantages of laminated safety glass. TROSIFOL is already in contact with potential users.
Polyvinyl butyral (PVB), a thermoplastic and hence non-crosslinking, basically displays outstanding and lasting adhesive strength. PVB exhibits exceptional optical properties, high adhesion to glass, remarkable impact resistance and incomparable resistance to UV, heat, weathering and other environmental influences.
TROSIFOL SOLAR UV+ shows excellent compatibility with other photovoltaic components, can be stored and remains processable for up to four years, and shows reproducible behaviour in all conventional lamination processes.
