Flavors and fragrances from Kuraray - for the scent of nature

Which fragrance do you prefer: fresh lemon, berry and forest fruits or natural cocoa? Kuraray offers various unique terpenoids that can be used to make synthetic aroma chemicals. Citral, for example, offers a fresh lemon fragrance - and it is also one of the most important raw materials for the production of a wide range of aroma chemicals with the scent of oranges or lilies. In addition to citral, our portfolio includes isoprenol, isovaleraldehyde and prenol. These substances can be converted into a variety of authentically scented flavors - from blueberries and blackberries to coffee, tomatoes, grapes and even white bread.

Kuraray also offers methyltetrahydropyran (MTHP), an isoprene derivative developed specifically for innovative chemistry in organic reactions. This novel solvent enhances yields and improves the process in certain reactions and conditions. It is safer and more sustainable than the products commonly used.
