Diols/polyols from Kuraray – The basis for new polymers

Diols are key components in the chemical industry. They can be  used in the production of polyesters, polycarbonates and polyurethanes. Kuraray offers 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol (MPD) and 1,9-nonanediol (ND). These are specific products produced using Kuraray’s proprietary synthesis technology. A wide range of derivatives of these diols are also marketed as Kuraray polyols. The methyl branch of MPD provides many distinctive properties: low viscosity, hydrolysis resistance, wide-ranging compatibility and a pleasant softness.
