Tirrenina™ is Kuraray’s line of sustainable man—made leather that is produced entirely without solvents but water-based and contains only a minimum amount of polyurethane. Its manufacturing process reduces the usage of water by 70% and of CO2 by 35%.
Tirrenina™ is characterized by an excellent bonding and tear strength as well as a low and even elongation. Its superior hand feel and great mouldability make it suitable for a wide range of demanding applications, especially those of environmental concern.
Tirrenina™ can be used in footwear, gloves, bags, furniture, automotive, accessories and is currently available in polyester suede and nubuck version in various thicknesses.
