Arbor Day & “Hanami"
Arbor Day & “Hanami" – viewing cherry blossoms Today is "Arbor Day" - the day of the tree, a global holiday reminding us of the beauty of nature and our responsibility for the environment.
To mark the 90th anniversary of Kuraray, cherry trees were planted at all Kuraray sites worldwide in 2016. So it is a good time now to take a look at the cherry trees that connect us with our colleagues at other Kuraray sites around the globe.
A total of six trees were planted in Europe: three at the German sites of Kuraray Europe GmbH in Frankfurt, Hattersheim and Troisdorf, two at the Russian site of OOO Trosifol in Bor / Nizhny Novgorod and one in Holesov in the Czech Republic at KURARAY EUROPE MORAVIA S.R.O.
Fortunately, all six of them have survived even some harsh winters well, thrive splendidly and all bear blossoms! Admittedly - a single, young tree only gives an idea of the pink-white colour frenzy and blossom magic that a group of mature trees convey. Nevertheless - the cherry trees connect us as a visible sign with our Japanese roots and are at the same time a symbol for the growth and development of our company.
Take your time for your personal "Hanami" in the parks and gardens in your area with a picnic in the green - be it under cherry blossoms or chestnuts!
