There is high demand for polyvinyl alcohols (PVOH) with very good solubility in water and strong crosslinking properties – for use in paper finishing, the textile industry, water-soluble films, adhesives and dispersing agents. K grades of KURARAY POVAL™ polyvinyl alcohols contain carboxyl groups that give PVOH excellent crosslinking properties. That makes them for ideal for your PVA applications: they improve textile and paper quality and improve the efficiency of production processes.
KURARAY POVAL™ K grades have excellent solubility in water and alkali as well as affinity for hydrophobic substances. That makes these polyvinyl alcohols ideal for use in the paper industry, as dispersing agents and in the production of adhesives. Coatings with these PVA materials give paper far more effective barrier properties than conventional polyvinyl alcohol polymers. What's more, they improve water resistance.
With their excellent water resistance and very good compatibility with other water-soluble polymers such as starch, the KURARAY POVAL™ K grades have many advantages in textile finishing. If they are used in sizes, they give yarns a protective coating - for more efficient production processes and top quality.
