Kuraray gets students in motion

"Future, training, opportunities"  is the name of the partnership programme of the Heinrich Böll School with the city of Hattersheim and local companies. Kuraray Europe GmbH has been involved right from the start and supports ninth graders in their professional orientation by holding an annual observation day – and, since very recently, by providing mobility, too.

Since 2013, around twelve young people and their teachers have been visiting Kuraray at Industriepark Höchst every year in order to gain an impression of the wide range of training opportunities available in the chemical industry. A tour of one of the two production plants is always part of the program, as is a direct exchange with apprentices. Time and again, school students are surprised and relieved to hear that they have access to an interesting and high-quality apprenticeship that offers them a wide range of future prospects, even without higher education entrance qualification.

The global specialty chemicals company with Japanese roots also offers internships, so that some interested students develop and solidify their desire for training as a chemical worker or lab assistant for example. School, city and company representatives agree that "This is a great opportunity for young people to find their way into their careers - and for Kuraray to find new apprentices.”

Kuraray has also recently become one of the local sponsors of the new transporter for Heinrich Böll School: in May, the school community was able to take over the car and is happy about the newly gained mobility during excursions and performances by the school band - until recently, parents, teachers or other school staff had to travel by private car when instruments or backpacks had to be transported - that's now history.
