Your digital application

You can apply to Kuraray quickly and easily via our digital jobs portal: karriere.kuraray.eu/eng. We need your CV, some information on your educational and professional background, your salary expectations and a possible starting date – then your application goes straight to our recruitment team. It’s even quicker if you use your Xing or LinkedIn profile to introduce yourself to us. When you submit your documents, you will receive confirmation of receipt. If you look like a good fit, we will invite you to an online interview to get to know your colleagues from the department. The second interview is held on our premises.

What we want to know about you

Your CV should be brief, up-to-date and clearly structured in chronological order. It should contain the following information:

  • Personal information about you
  • Details of your work experience and educational background, including internships and voluntary service
  • Any special knowledge and skills, e.g. foreign languages, soft skills, IT skills

Our interview structure

If we find your application convincing, we will invite you to interviews. The initial interview to get to know you will be online via Microsoft Teams. This one-hour discussion with colleagues from the relevant department at Kuraray is a chance to see whether the chemistry between us is right and to answer any questions you may have. If this first interview goes well for both sides, we will invite you to an interview at our site. There, you will meet further potential colleagues and have an opportunity to get a more detailed insight into Kuraray.

Your application documents

We want to make the application process as easy as possible. Therefore, we do not need all application documents for your first online interview. Your CV is sufficient. If we invite you to a second, in-person interview, we will ask you to send us further documents in advance, for example

  • Job and internship references from your previous employers
  • Certificates from relevant further training and development
  • Educational certificates (school, apprenticeship or university degree, etc.)

You can upload these as separate documents or one single document. Alternatively, you can email them to us. We accept the following formats: Word (doc, docx), PDF, JPG, PNG, GIF. Individual documents must not exceed 15 MB. Please do not upload password or write-protected PDF and Word files.

Several data sheets and documents are lying on a table and being discussed.

Interview tips: Online first interview

We hold first interviews virtually via Microsoft Teams. You will need a computer or smartphone with internet access. You do not have to create your own Microsoft Teams account. You will receive a link from us to access the interview on the date assigned. Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Edge can be used for Microsoft Teams meetings. Alternatively, you can download the Microsoft Teams app to your smartphone.

Make sure the light is good and you have chosen a suitable Microsoft Teams background. The room should be brightly lit and the light should be behind you so you are not overexposed.

Audio quality is also important. We therefore recommend that you use a headset. The integrated microphone suppresses noise so we can concentrate fully on you and your interview.

It’s a good idea to test your camera and microphone in good time before the interview. First impressions make a difference – online as well as offline! Then all you have to do is dial in on time.

Staff from the department you are applying to will take part in the first interview.

In the first interview, we want to get to know you and find out whether we could work together. We will therefore give you a clear insight into our working world and corporate culture. We’re also interested in finding out about you as a person. Because your personality is just as important to us as your qualifications.

Please allow about 60 minutes for the first interview via Microsoft Teams.

The interview will start will a brief round of introductions. We want to find out more about you: What are your key attributes? What’s important to you? What work experience have you already had?

Then we will ask you some questions about your qualifications: What skills can you offer? What would you still like to learn? What is your ideal working environment like?

Naturally, we will give you full details of your future tasks, the team and Kuraray. At the end, there will be enough time for you to ask questions.

Interview tips: Second interview at Kuraray

The second interview is held on our premises. Here, we want to get to know you better and give you an opportunity so see Kuraray at first hand. You will receive an email inviting you to the interview on a specific date. During the second interview, we also want to answer any questions not dealt with in the first interview. If necessary, there could be further interviews, for example, so you can get to know your future team and workplace.
