Originally from Montpellier, Anwar Benkerta, 22, joined KEF as marketing assistant for the dental products business unit in October 2017. During three weeks of the month, he supports the unit in terms of social media communication and marketing, while he is at college during the other week, heading towards a master’s degree in marketing and communication at a specialized business school in Paris.
After a professional baccalaureate in 2014 in the field of electronic and digital systems (BTEC National Diploma Advanced), Anwar was convinced to be made for a technical training in computer science. He applied for a BTS* in IT services to organizations (BTEC Higher National Diploma), where he specialized in infrastructure, systems and networks solutions.
During these two years of training he realized that he had other expectations. But he decided to finish the training and ended up obtaining the BTS in 2016. Thanks to the advice of one of his teachers at college, he reframed his career towards communication by acquiring a Bachelor’s Degree in web design and communication. During this course of study accompanied by vocational training, he developed skills in marketing, graphic and web design.
With his background in diverse disciplines and his open-mindedness, he was an ideal candidate for Kuraray France and thus successfully applied to their vacancy posted on LinkedIn. Since then he has supported sales & marketing manager Brenda van de Watering as marketing assistant for a year and a half now. Although the world of dentistry was completely new to him, he has since been fascinated.
He is involved in the management of social media, articles published on the website, emailing, CRM and print communication (brochures, flyers, invitations etc.). He also attended the ADF exhibition (the most important event that brings together all the major players of dentistry in France).
Thanks to the versatility of this position, Anwar has also worked with regional sales representatives as well as colleagues located in Germany and the Netherlands. His enthusiasm and flexibility help him to understand and integrate very well into the Kuraray Group.
“Working for Kuraray Dental while studying for my master’s degree has been a great chance for me to couple theory and practice and to get the best of both worlds”, says Anwar. His traineeship at Kuraray will soon end. The young man would like to focus on communication for audiovisual media and the cinema in future.
