Kuraray Europe GmbH (KEG) is the platinum sponsor of JAPAN WEEK 2011in Frankfurt, Germany (www.JapanWeek2011.de).

JAPAN WEEK will be held from November 5-12, 2011 and is one of the highlights of the celebrations to mark 150 years of friendship between Germany and Japan. More than a thousand Japanese will be presenting the cultural, artistic and culinary traditions of their country - from bon dancing to sword-fighting and calligraphy to contemporary art.

Intercultural exchange is part of daily working life at KEG. Based at Frankfurt-Höchst Industrial Park, this European subsidiary of Japanese speciality chemicals producer Kuraray has two managing directors: Dr. Matthias Gutweiler of Germany and Masuo Oba from Japan. In addition, more than 20 Japanese colleagues from the group’s headquarters in Japan work in various functions in Germany. The importance of JAPAN WEEK for the company is shown by the fact that the company’s president, Fumio Ito, and a management delegation from Japan will be travelling to Frankfurt for the event. “By supporting Japan Week, we aim to make a contribution to the cultural life of Frankfurt and further strengthen German-Japanese relations and understanding both within our company and outside,” explains Masuo Oba.
